JEC supports the British Championship incorporating Jaguar Anniversary Celebrations
Shelsley Walsh 4th & 5th June 2011
The JEC and other Jaguar clubs along with Shelsley Walsh main sponsors, Stratstone, the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust, and BMIHT Gaydon, will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the 'E' Type and the 60th Anniversary of the 'C' Type, at this historic Hill climb circuit.
The organisers expect to run competitive classes of the 'E' and 'C' Types, and demonstration runs of historic Jaguars.They hope to have a number of Jaguar racing celebrities at the event. So far invited are Michael MacDowel, ex Jaguar works driver & former hill climb champ, and Max Trimble, ex 'C' Type racer who will be part of the commentary team. Max lost a leg when he crashed a 'C' Type in the 1950's. but he is still going strong on his tin leg over 50 years later. Also invited is the legendary Norman Dewis, ex-works test driver, now aged 90 but still very active.
The JEC involvement will be hosted by our Three Counties Region.
The Jaguar events will be on both days. Sunday is for the Championship runs & Saturday is for Practice. However, the practice runs are all timed, and the same cars / drivers will be there on both days.
There will also be Jaguar demo runs & a Jaguar parade both days, including Jaguar Heritage cars.
Discounted tickets are available from their website at £ 10 per person for each day. Usual cost is £ 12 for Sat & £ 15 for Sun. Children under 16 free.
