The Algarve Historic Festival- Autumn Tour

Building on the success of the last two Algarve Historic Festivals, which this year takes place at the 'Autodromo Internacional do Algarve' over the weekend of the 22/23 October, we have again requested Jasper Gilbert, who has in the past run for a number of UK based car clubs extremely successful overseas events, to produce a tour, that will focus on the Algarve Historic Festival, but also contain all the elements for which he is known.

 Therefore, please find below an outline of his proposed tour:

 THE ALGARVE HISTORIC FESTIVAL, AUTUMN TOUR
16th—30th October 2011

Sun 16th Oct Late evening departure from Portsmouth on Brittany Ferries new high speed ferry Cap Finistere for Santander via Roscoff.
Tues 18th Oct Arrive in Santander then drive to Leon for overnight at Parador de Leon which is a 16th century pilgrims hospital
Wed 19th Oct Drive to Belmonte in Portugal for one night at the stunning Pousada which boasts some of the best foods and best views in the Pousada group.

Thur 20th Oct Drive to Vila Vicosa in Portugal for overnight at the Pousada which is next to the Palace of Catherine of Braganza.
Fri 21st Oct Drive to Tavira on the Algarve for 3 nights at the lovely Pousada in the medieval town. We plan to organise a night out with water taxis to dinner at a waterside restaurant. This is the weekend of the Algarve Historic Festival, further details to follow from JEC, Portugal region

Mon 24th OctDrive to El Puerto de Santa Maria for a night at Hotel Bodega Real. This is a short leg from Tavira and right on Cadiz Bay next to Jerez, the heart of Spanish sherry making.

Tues 25th Oct Drive to Guadix for 2 nights at Hotel Abentofail a beautiful new boutique hotel in the heart of the town.
Wed 26th Oct Exclusive trackday at Circuito de Guadiix; with a British team and very high standards we should be able to operate an open pit lane.
Thurs 27th Oct Drive to Toledo for a night at the Parador overlooking this beautiful world heritage city
Fri 28th Oct Drive to Lerma over mountain passes and stay at the Parador, a 17th century ducal Palace
Sat 29th Oct Drive to Bilbao for evening departure
Sun 30th Oct Mid evening arrival at Portsmouth

What is included:
- Ferry crossings with standard outside cabin ( upgrades available at extra cost),
- Overnight accommodation as described.
