SOUTH DOWNS RUN
Sunday May 29th 2011
As a Region we were very pleased with the support given by members during last year's revival run of this popular drive from Arundel in West Sussex to Eastbourne in East Sussex. The run was recorded as the first motoring event to have used what is now the South Downs National Park. On Sunday 29th May, the second run will take place, we hope with twice the number of entrants - perhaps 120 Jaguars and Daimlers enjoying this enchanting drive through some of the best Sussex towns and villages. The whole route is prepared in a booklet and is very easy to follow by the written words and quaint Sussex road signs.
We are very fortunate this year to be able to use the Main Jaguar Dealership "Harwoods" in Chichester West Sussex as a starting point. That will allow us to make more of the route after leaving Chichester in a northerly direction towards the South Downs. At the time of writing, the final run down into Eastbourne and onto the Western Lawns is not finalised, but be assured this event will include a few surprises and we could all expect a special welcome in Eastbourne. Our Eastbourne finishing area will again be supported by Caffyns of Eastbourne the main Jaguar Dealership who will also provide examples of the latest Jaguar models.
Entries for this year are arriving every day on the doorstep of our event co ordinator, so please don't delay in ensuring your Jaguar or Daimler is entered, If your vehicle is a special and powered by Jaguar you will be accepted.
Entry fees including coffee vouchers, route instructions, vehicle passes and idents is just £29.50 per vehicle.
