National Motor Museum
View over 250 vehicles from every motoring era from some of the earliest examples of motoring to legendary World Land Speed Record Breakers including Bluebird, ‘TV Star’ cars such as Del Boy’s Reliant Regal and rare oddities like a giant orange on wheels
Built around the 13th century Great Gatehouse of Beaulieu Abbey, the historic house has been home to the Montagu family since 1538 and is kept in the style of its later Victorian additions. It is brought alive with real Victorian household characters.
Special Exhibitions include:
Secret Army Exhibition. Learn about the Special Operations Executive (SOE) which trained secret agents at the Beaulieu ‘Finishing School’ during WWll. A film, audio recollections and artefacts combine to tell this amazing story
World of Top Gear
Ever wondered what happened to the amphibious Toyota, the Alfa/Saab stretch limo and the Reliant Robin rocket that were drowned/cut in half/fired into space by Jeremy, James and Richard in the good name of Top Gear? Since not even the dodgiest used car dealers would buy them, we’ve collected all the battered, modified and generally ruined cars from the world’s biggest car show and gathered them together in… the Top Gear Enormodrome!
Take a look around the cars from the challenges, get a rare behind-the-scenes view into the show’s production office, and enjoy clips of some of the best Top Gear moments. The display, which is here for the rest of the year includes:
James Bond Experience
A fascinating exhibition of genuine vehicles from the films, including the Lotus Submarine Car from 'The Spy Who Loved Me' and the Jaguar XKR Roadster from 'Die Another Day' plus memorabilia and props - even Jaw's shirt!
