Superb to visit ’Our’ website as my first try at Internet.. It was a different, but similar thrill to see the stand at the NEC a week ago. especially ’Steve’s’ ( and his wife’s (!)) non-standard- but to me, still concours XJ. Personally, I’m still working on 3 XJ’s and a ’65 ’S’-Type... I wonder why I let my Day-job get in the way?? Oh! Just reminded by wife.. to PAY for them she says. Fair cop, luv! I concede...

I have a ’90 XJ40 that has just failed its MOT because of lights - more specifically - when on dim only one light is lit - fair suspicion where the fault lies; but I seem to remember a fix whereby only the side lights come on and then will pass its MOT. Any suggestions where I can find this fix until I get a new module?

I sadly have to part with an XJS V12 Lynx Eventer in wonderful condition
having done only about 30,000 miles since having a brand new engine
straight from Jaguar and £4,000 was spent at Lynx last year on a complete
check over.
These estate conversions are very rare as only about 45 right hand drive
ones have been done and the cost of a conversion today is £20,000. Any one
interested ?

In process of restoration of 1984 XJS HE V12. NEED ADVISE. Is the money that will be needed to complete the restoration of this auto going to someday pay off? All jag owners know of the money pit syndrome. PLEASE if you have manuals etc, can you send to my email address. I already have Kirby Palms XJS help, and Haynes. I need HE supplement and Service manuals but want to keep the cost down. Any other owners of the same car out there, can you please send me your experiences. After careful consideration I have decided to rebuild the V12 and avoid the Chevy/Ford lump kits. Thanks in advance for your help.

I’ve just bought a 1988 Sov 3.6, showroom interior, immaculate exterior (no rust, blemishes, etc), full spec with everything in working order, 90k on the clock, 2 owners from new, and a FSH, for a measly £800 from a local dealer. Owned Jags for many years, however, the last one was in 1992, it was an 1980 XJS V12, the best car I have ever driven but 7 mpg around London is now way beyond my budget. If I had the money I would buy another MK10/420G, I love the picnic tables and whale like features but as I am now disabled money is scarce so it shall have to be an early XJ40 3.6

I have had a few xj6's and I must say once you drive one you can never go back to cars that were built not to accommodate the driver, but built to get you from point a. to point b.. I love my jag, 72 euro xj6....(John is his name) and I could swear he is alive, John is my best friend and I am not a car lover. There is something more about jags than just getting you there, they are a pure joy to drive; getting there is now a pleasure and not another job.

I am in the process of restoring a 1965 MK 2 3.8 and have fitted a MK 10
cylinder head {3.8} and the triple 2" S.U. carbs. There is insufficient
space for the master cylinder and it must presumably be repositioned.
Has anyone done this conversion and , if so, I would appreciate some ideas. The
air filter/s also present a space problem. Would 3 short trumpets be
suitable?.

Always wanted to own a Jag but put off by the MANY horror stories I've heard. The best mechanic in town who is from the UK advises "don't touch one with a barge pole" Is this true?
[webman: - In common with many long-lived marques, Jaguar has had periods of poor quality control! Like the proverbial little girl; when she was good, she was very, very good and when she was bad she was horrid! IMHO all Jaguars in well maintained condition represent great value and fun. Best advice is to do your research, no car is without flaw, 'speak' to owners they will tell you the truth!]

attention. I usually come to Europe in the Summer to pick up spares

moment, I am thinking of forming a Jaguar Club when I go back to my

Bought my first Jag two weeks ago, a beautiful '96 XJS. Am seeking all available resources to help learn about Jags in general and recent XJS in particular. Anyone with advice, suggestions, recommendations, service tips, etc. please feel free to let me know. For example, are there any performance or maintenance problems I need to know about? Is this model year susceptible to rust? Lastly, is there a known remedy for protecting the front spoiler from curb-side damage (other than backing into a parking spot)? I found out the hard way on the second day of ownership that damage occurs while backing away from a parking curb. Is there a way to anchor the lower edge of the spoiler such that it wont catch on such obstruction?
