I have a 1970 series 1 manual-overdrive 4.2L XJ6. It has travelled 82000 miles and is in wonderful condition. My other is a 3.2 XJ6, 1993 version with all the bells & whistles. The only hiccup is finding parts that are reasonable in cost. Any suggestions? Also, the oil pressure light comes on when the oil is hot and at low revs. It never comes on when on the open highway and cruising. Any thoughts or suggestions? Have a good day. Les

I have a beautiful sable brown 1970 series 1 XJ6, 4.0 litre. Manual-overdive & factory air conditioning fitted. Travelled 82000 miles and perhaps for sale if the correct offer appears. Have also taken delivery of a 1993 3.2 XJ6 travelled 62000 km. Where can a find some reasonably priced alloys for it? Why does the oil pressure warning light come on when the car has travelled enough to warm up, and on idle only. On the road and all other occasions it reads well. Any thoughts most welcome. I have a 86 XJS 3.6-Manual with 3 irritating problems I seek help to fix: (1) The WS Wipers park to the RHS. Can this be changed to park on the LHS. (2)From time to time the Alpine radio switches ON by itself and bursts into a loud static noise. Switching the radio OFF simply invites a further cycle? (3)The reversing lights do not operate when the gear is selected. Its not the fuse or the bulbs but I cannot locate the switch unit ??? Thanks in anticipation.

Own a 1967 Daimler Soveriegn (420). rhd originally from UK. Interior is in fair condition for age and will recondition in the near future, the car is is good mechanical running shape, no rust and will be getting repainted within the year. I drive the car on a regular basis, which in my book is the only way to enjoy a daimler/jag!

After a couple of years membership in JEC, I finally got to check out this site. We own a dark blue/grey interior Jaguar XJ6 1973 (Series I) with which we have attended the Norwegian Jaguar Club's Summer rallies anually (-2) since 1992. I visit the UK a few times each year, but havn't gotten around to bringing the car. Time for a countryside-vacation....

Greetings yet again to one and all. Just to clarify a point after my last guest book entry, yes I do still own a Jaguar. Although I find it very hard to part with any Jaguar, two is just a little extravagant don't you think? I still own my wonderful trusty XJ40 Sovereign, and have no plans to part with her for a long time to come. She can still be viewed within the "timeline" pages on this web-site under the title of XJ40 2.9, courtesy of the "webman" Peter Ford. (My gratitude to him). Here's looking forward to another successful show season. See you there perhaps?!T.T.F.N. Steve.

Hi From sunny and warm south Florida. The last time I entered the guestbook, I was not a member of JEC. I can proudly state, I am a member at this time. I love all the comments about Jaguars from all over the world. It appears, I am not the only person who has had "a hard love for his car". Presently I am driving my 1979 XJ6 Saloon 3 every day. I prefer this car over the others in my yard ( Landrover, Suburban, Ford F150, and 1973 Lincoln) I am currently looking for a new interior--- Biscuit color seat covers. If anyone has these covers in good condition please contact me. Thanks. Oh by the way, my friend just aquired a 1956 or 1957 Mark 1, in great shape. The car has only 46K miles . Many of the problems I have read from other owners, I have also experienced with my car. Ck the fuel pressure first!!. The air flow meter is also a problem. Good luck for Florida.

Greetings once again fellow Jaguar fans. Yesturday, I sold one of my Jaguar's to a friend I came into contact with some months ago through this very guest book. It was wonderful owning two examples of Browns Lane's finest, but the John Prescott jokes became too much to bare! The proud new owner travelled all the way down to Nottingham from Scotland by overnight bus, some thirteen and a half hour journey! We had a very enjoyable "Jaguar" day, and to my delight, a deal was struck and a new caring owner was found for my wonderful Coventry Cat. What better experience for a Jaguar enthusiast, a 335 mile drive home in his pride and joy! I hope this Jaguar provides as much pleasure to it's new owner as I have gained from mine. I'm glad to know that my wonderful old Jag' has gone to a good and caring home where it will be looked after and improved. Yet another burning example of true Jaguar enthusiasm! Thanks to all at the J.E.C for bringing the Jaguar community together. Regards to all, Steve.

I bought a 1983 XJ6 in April of 1998. The car is jet black and very nice. But for some time now I've had problems with the fuel injection. Sometimes at red lights the car stalls. Could I replace the fuel injection system with carburetors instead. Any advise!!! Thanks.

Hello to all. I felt the need to post a message again here to stress my gratitude and thanks to David Marks of "David Marks Garages Ltd" which is very local to me situated in Wilford, Nottingham. I have used David's services now on a number of occasions, (my preference over a main agent) and I have nothing but praise for his attention to detail, quality and customer satisfaction. It is no wonder that Jaguar themselves rely on his services as every time I visit his garage, there always seems to be one or more Jaguars belonging to the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust there being worked upon. David has just carried out a timing chain replacement on my Sovereign. The car was ready for collection two days before I was expecting it and it now perrs like a real big cat should do! Any of you reading this who has the opportunity of using his knowledge and expertise comes highly recommended by me (and many others I'm sure!) My thanks go out to David, (and Bob) it's a pleasure doing business with him and it's nice to know a reputable garage who I can rely on and not worry about my car when it's in the hands of someone else. Regards, Steve.
