I own a very original Lister-Jag XJ-S that, unfortunately, I must sell. Only 125 of these beauties were ever sold and this one has to be among the very best around. It has the 5-speed Getrag with H/D clutch, BBS wheels with new Dunlops, and beautiful (original) Grenadier red paint/barley interior. It has been meticulously maintained (I am the second owner) and needs a good home with someone who can appreciate a truly superb and fast! motorcar.

Hi there, can anybody offer any advice/assistance. Firstly, I own a 1991 facelift XJS. I purchased the car in Jan this year. It has a full Jag main dealer service history & has been serviced every 6 months. The cars covered 97k miles & I shall only do about 3k dry miles a year. For such a low annual mileage a service every 6 months does seem somewhat excessive, is an annual service ok? any advice please. Secondly, the specialist Jag guy I used for servicing my previous car an XJ40 has stopped trading (Premier cars in Barton-Le-Clay). I can't find anybody else locally in ads in the Jag mags etc. Can anybody recommend a good mechanic in the Luton area - I can't afford & have little faith in the main dealers. Any ideas ?

I have an 89 Jag XJ6 VDP that cuts out when below 20 degrees Fahrenheit, it will go to 2000 rpm without a problem but not any farther without feathering it, If you feather it you can go as high as you want, and if you shut the car off and start it back up it is just fine again. It does it mostly right away in the morning, but it has done it even after the car is completely warmed up as has been sitting in park idling for 15 min.

Hi. I've recently bought a 1987 XJS V12 and it's fantastic. However, the driver side electric window worked fine before but has given up. The car was unused for a long period of time before I bought it and had it serviced. Any tips on how to get the window working again? Also is it common to have the radiator warning light come on even when the levels are topped up? Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

Today I learned that replacing just the mirror (not the housing) of my 1993 XJS convertible would cost $100 at the Jaguar dealer! That is why I am referencing "Jaguar" on the Internet. The price gouging on Jaguar repairs at dealers is disgraceful. Does anyone know a reasonable Jaguar mechanic near Raleigh, NC?

Hi People, have a 1992 XJRS, Absolutely Wonderful Dream car but one small problem. When starting cold or hot it will not start on the first few turns of the starter,it just turns over and over i.e. anything from 4 to 10 engine turns. but when trying again straight away it starts almost every time. 2 Seperate jaguar dealers cannot solve this problem, even after spending £500 on a service. My last car XJS Le-mans No.100 is still in the family also aN XJ6 4.2 before that had no such problems. Any ideas Guys fellow Jagaholics.

'Lost and Still Looking' Dearest Jag Fans, I am trying to locate the owner of a SS Jaguar reg. no. ULE 80 (made in 1938 ?). The car once belonged to Alan Howarth, grandfather to my future wife Stephanie Howarth (we are to marry in September 2001) and I would dearly like to attempt to persuade the existing owner to provide a chauffeur service on the day. When Alan died in the early 1990's his family could not agree who should retain it, so it was auctioned at Sotheby's (who I have also contacted in an attempted to secure communication with the present owner). If you happen to have know the whereabouts of this vehicle, I would be most grateful if you would communicate this request to the owner. If they are not interested then fair enough. I can be contacted on the number below or the following address: 172A Ramsden Road, Balham, London, SW12 8RE, Mob 07711-848248 I look forward to hearing from you.

Hallo all Jaguar lovers ! Or as I read in some paper: "If I have to cry, I rather cry in a Jaguar than in a Volkswagen". And that´s a difference! My XJ 6 serie 1 is a A- if I look at the Guidelines in JEC febr 2001 that arrived today to me in Sweden. But if I don´t attend to some minor rust around front wing nosecones it will be a B (or C )in a year or two. I don´t drive it in wintertime at all, just in the summer. If anyone out there in the world knows if and where I can by a repair nosecone to serie I front wing (or perhaps the whole front wings) - send me a mail. I often read add's to serie II or III, but not for serie I. I hope to see you out there in summertime !

Recently changed the front wishbone bushes on my 1989 XJS 3.6 to plastic. Now there aren't enough shims to correct the castor angle! Any ideas why plastic bushes should alter things so much when castor angle used to be spot on. All other geometry fine. By the way how many castor shims could I put in?? Any suggestions would be appreciated as there's not much hair left now from all the head scratching!!! Look forward to hearing from you experts.

I'm glad I found your site! I love Jaguars and have owned numerous vintage ones over the years. I now drive a '91 Vanden Plas and am restoring a '46 2 1/2 litre saloon. I have a question perhaps someone can answer: The '46 is right-hand drive with a KPH speedometer and the original license number is G4869. The number is not the typical aluminum/raised letters/numbers scheme but rather neatly painted on. I believe the vehicle was originally exported from the UK but to where? Africa? Many thanks!!

Having been a Jaguar lover for many years I have now just purchased my first one a 1991 3.2 manual XJ40. The car as covered a mere 39000 miles from new with a full history and the present owner used to do a lot of caravan touring with the car the car has got what the owner said to be A Sports pack which is a sports steering wheel large alloys and sports suspension but the back of the car is lower than the front and to me does not look right could this be to do with towing the caravan or as somebody as already mentioned that this model had a self levelling suspension and the censors (and other things that sound ) could be wrong with the car the it self drives lovely and the handling seems fine it is not affecting the car at all if anyone can help me with this problem i would be most grateful please e-mail with any info.
