My 1985 XJS needs the fuel injectors re-hosed, and the official Jaguar dealer policy is not to repair, only replace. If repaired, no guarantee. Any ideas out there? Posted 9/26/96

I bit off more than I can chew. Trying to restore both a 120 and a 140, both roadsters, is simply too much. One must be sold. It's great to see your presence on the web.

I am restoring a xk 140 roadster and would be interested in periodically getting help from other knowledgeable enthusists. For example, did early xk140's come out with 'C' type head and not have the 'C' cast into the head. I do not want to strip the engine down and I am not sure if I have a 'C' type head or not. I know that early 'C' type heads did not have the markings on cam covers.

Just purchased a 1990 4.2 Sovereign. The car has covered 85,000 miles and is in excellent condition. Only fault is that the air conditioning compressor is not working, if anyone knows of a suitable repair or where to obtain a cheap replacment unit I would be most grateful.

Nice work. I have been a member for several years now and recommend the club to all that I can. I have a 1988 VDP and love it. I'm currently having a problem with it starting. Thought it was the starter but not so. It appears to be that the sensor for park is not working correctly. I have to tap the gear shift to get the starter to engage. Does anyone know if the sensor is outside of the transmission or inside. If it's outside then I can probably swap it myself if inside then it's off to the repair shop. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also any E-Types for sale? if so E-Mail me. Once again great work.

WATER LEAKS: I have a beautiful '85 XJ6. I understand water leaks are typical. Mine leaks in rain (sometimes even in washing)- leaks into driver and passenger footwells. I have been totally unsuccessful in finding source of leaks. Are there 'usual' sources of such leaks I might explore? Thanks for any help on this.

Have a 1960 XK150 and smokes like crazy out of right tailpipe. All cylinder read in the 125 to 128psi range and runs very good. The smoke is white and really comes out heavy after the engine runs about 2 minutes. No smoke when first started. Could it be the carburators??? HELP

Wonderfull page I might add, it could use more animation and graphics. I use Netscape Navigator 2.02 AND 3.0 beta 4.
[Webman: I would love to make the site sexier, but many of our visitors come via CompuServe and the Spry Mosaic browser does not support tables, leave alone frames and animation (yes I know about the new browser, but many of our guests are still using Spry Mosaic). The aim of this site is to publicise the JEC, so for a while it is targetted at the 'lowest common browser'. I do have a 'frames' version and hope to publish soon!]

Just bought the 'old' Jaguar from the famous Dutch former footballplayer Ruud Krol. This is a silvergrey Jaguar XJ-6 3.8l Sovereign. But now I want to sell my Racing Green 1988 Jaguar XJ6 2.9l Sovereign with 4 new tires and 2 new shock-absorbers at the back. This car is in a technically exellent condition and I want to sell it for only US $ 8000. If there is somebody out there who's interested give me -at- mail.

Recent JEC member with 1987E 3.6 XJ40 Sovereign. Great car! Glad I found you, great idea. Is this where we ask for help? If so, print the following please, otherwise I apologise, how should I use it? Would like a new number plate. How do I go about it cheaply? What is the best value workshop manual. All help welcome.
[Webman: You can always ask for help here, but sadly it is beyond my capabilities to answer you direct. Currently our advisers are not on-line, there is always the telephone but I have published your note in the hope that others will respond]

For info, ins2.htm has a typo. at the last line 'fron' instead of 'from' (hey, we expect things perfect us Jaguar owners !!!) how about a link to my Jaguar page? (just a short article about owning my XJ6 series 3) My homepage has a pic. too (animated if your browser supports GIF89a and you click on it)
[Webman: Well how picky can you get? Seriously, all comments welcome & non-profit links are free!]
