Friend of a friend is selling his 1987 Jaguar 3.6 Auto. This car has had one owner from new and has done only 53,000 miles. Leather interior, air conditioning and alloys. Unmarked bodywork, chrome and inside leather. He is asking £1,900 or v.n.o. Sounds like a great buy for a Jaguar Enhusiast. Contact Derek Richardson on 0115 928 1657.

1. Does anyone have books for a 2001 XKR? I would like to wire in a radar detector but I need to know the fuse block plan so I know which fuse to use. 2. In anyone interested in purchasing an instrument cluster from a 2000 XKR? It is a British/Canadian cluster with about 1700 Km on the odometer (from a new car purchased in Canada and converted to US)

Just surfing the web for a good Jag site. I used to own a 1983 XJS V12 but got into some trouble with it with the law here when I burried the spedometer, hey I just was checking if it could go over 160mph, it can and nicely. Anywho, I had to get rid of that car ( I averaged 100mph a day every day without blinking). And after owning a saab for seven years (which got totalled by a 69 yr old woman last month) I found myself a mint condition 1986 Jaguar XJ6 Vanden Plas with little problems and love it. Just looking around for others with a similar model who know about the quirks of this car and the tricks to fix. Good luck to all else who love their Jags.

Hello all. Please can anyone help me. I recently had a second hand original tow bar professionally installed to my 1992 XJ6 3.2 but the car electrics say there is a caravan attached when there isn't, the right indicator flashes at double speed (inside car but not outside) and when the caravan is attached the left indicator does not work at all. When I disconnect the towbar computer everything works fine so the fault is either in the computer or the wiring to towbar. I have taken car back three times and garage can't find the fault. Each time they keep the car for a couple of days - and this is a jag garage!! Can anyone supply a wiring diagram for the original jag towbar for XJ6 so I can check the wiring myself as I am sure I can co a better job! Thanks in advance.....

I am a very disilusioned facelift 4.0 litre XJS owner. Purchased the car in Jan this year, has a full main dealer history, got a Jag specialist to check out prior to purchase who gave it a clean bill of health. Since then - new battery, new rear diff, new oil cooler & associated pipes, new wishbone bushes, new rear discs, 60k mile service. Now I'm getting FF68 code on the warning system & to top it all the aircon/ heating system is playing up - pipework under the bonent ice's up & when this occurs, although the fans are working hardly any cold/hot air is blown into the cabin (car had a new condensor & new fans installed prior to my purchase). Jag specialist says one reason £300 cost, main dealer says another £1,000 cost - what do I do, somebody else states that leaves/must is clogging up the radiator & this simply needs to be hosed out. I feel gutted, had all the checks done prior to purchase on a full history car yet I still get all this grief - my 2.9 XJ6 I had before was always as good as gold with half the history & these cars had a reputation of dodgey build quality. Am I just unlucky or have other 4.0 XJS owners had the same experiance. I used to love the car & have spent thousands on it, but now I feel prehaps I should just sell it - advice, help please !

I am JEC member and would like to know probably like many other (xj40) 1989 sovereign 3.6 owners why there never seems to be much mention of this model?? Jag Enthusiast is a GREAT MAG, but the only time I hear about the afore mentioned baby is when someone writes in. And as for JAG WORLD they may as well be known as the xjs mag !!! Sorry about this but whats going on? STILL LOVE THE CLUB AND THE MAGS but I sometime think honest views need to be aired....

I have this really neat Jaguar that I purchased to have for a TOY, however, I tried to have it restored and everything that could go wrong, has, First, I commissioned my son's friend to repair it, he left on the street, it was towed, and it went down hill from there. It is really kool, it is a beautiful white with tan, leather interior, the beautiful hardwood dashboard and will not run at all. Some guy, tricked me into painting it without doing the mechanic work before during the body work. XJ6 THIS IS A KOOL WEB, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK

Hi everyone, Writing about a car I saw once in the city while driving along, it was a 1967-69 Daimler Sovereign, old english white in color with wire wheels. The most gorgeous car I believe I've ever seen in my 50 years, and I've seen many. Have just retired and am wondering if anyone can give me info on the rarity of this paticular car, I would love to be able to enjoy one. I've only seen that type Daimler once, so they may be scarce. I've had no luck locating them through the conventional means, so I'm exploring all avenues here. Please feel free to email me at any time with any kind of info on this car that you may have, even from overseas is helpful, I'm looking to buy withing the next twelve months. Thanks very much, Josef

Just bought my first Jaguar for 40 years - an X-Type 3.0SE in Adriatic Blue with Sand Beige. Is it my imagination, or does the colour change dramatically with the light conditions?!? I KNOW all colours change to a degree, but this is remarkable, or so it seems.

Where are all the Challenger E-Types? If you have a Challenger or Avon E-Type replica why not join the Challenger Register? Send details to Nigel Boyd, 219 London Road, Ewell, Surrey KT17 2BU. Alternatively e-mail them to me and I'll be happy to forward them. If you are having problems we may know another owner near you, or someone who has the answer!

I now have my Daimler 250 back on the road. Still a few cosmetics to do but she sounds good. The only thing that worries me is that when I stop at tick over, the oil pressure drops down and just bounces up and down off the zero on the oil pressure guage. It is fine running and seems fine when starting etc. Can anyone put my mind at rest and tell me that this is normal?

There seems to be special tools required to do an alignment on the 96 (and others) XJ-6. I hear you can add weight to the inside of the car and fill the tank. Has anyone had any experience with this or have specifications? The nearest Jag dealer is 150 miles away.

I once had a chance to trade my 1962 Austin Healey 3000 MkII for a 1967 Jaguar MkII 3.4 Saloon. I didn't make the trade because the owner told me it needed a valve grind ($650 1969 dollars) I had just spend the same amount to have the Healey completely overhauled. I have regretted that decision for over 30 years. I sold the Healey which by 1990 had won the competition to become solid iron oxide. (Utah dumps 80 tons of rock salt per year on it's winter roads on average)It still sold for $4,000 as is. . .in a box. I paid $700 in 1968. I am looking for the same Jaguar to fill in the spaces of my fantasy. Any help in this pursuit would be greatly appreciated. Best wishes all.

Drive a series 3 Sovereign, see in magazine Dec last real looker. Only problem, locating central locking relay and fuse, wrong location stated in user h/book and service manual for late models ie 86. True location, over l/hand fuse box, in line fuse & one relay for all 4 doors !!! Perhaps this info will save others from 6 hr search undertaken by me to find the 2 relays in footwell at front. Along with further 2 relays in prop shaft tunnel for rear doors, as stated everywhere in Jaguar publications on model.
