I would like to replace the fuel injectors (or pumps) of my xj6 4.2 '83. According my mechanic, I have to spend at least $130 for each pump plus labor for a total of $1000+.

Is there someone out there who can give ideas on how to change these fuel pumps of injectors?

I own a 1998 XJ8--beautiful car!! I am having an on going problem and wonder if any '98 XJ8 owners have encountered the same. The first yr. I had the car I was driving on an interstate about 70mph when the car just died--push the gas pedal and nothing there. It started right back up and the service staff at my local Jaguar dealer told me it was a throttle problem. This same problem has occured two more times--the last being this week when I was nearly run over by a freightliner that was following me when the car again just died. My car has 70,000 miles on it and I was getting ready to trade it for a new XJ8 but have now lost all sense of safety and security. Has any other '98 XJ8 owner experienced these problems? The car has had regular maintenace with the local dealer and this has been the major problem---do I just have an unusual Jag or is this a problem others are having?

For many years I have been periodically searching for the XK 120 Roadster (Bronze) previously owned by my father Charles Maidment. The registration was LEL 21. In those days we lived at Haytor Vale Devon. In February 1963 he and the car (& my mother!) won the Concors D'Elegance in the BARC Eastbourne Rally. This event was important enough to make the front pages(?)of London Illustratred News at the time. He died shortly afterwards.

I wonder, therefore, if the car is owned by one of JEC's members, and wether you would be kind enough to check the register of vehicles for me. If the car is still around, I have some wonderful memorabilia to share with its current owner.

Help needed - I have an XJ40 3.2 1994 export LHD. It's been imported from Germany. The problem I have is that It's had an extra anti theft device installed, I think these systems were installed in the UK to comply with German regulations. I need to insert a small plastic key with three pins into a socket in the dash before starting the car. This system has developed an intermittent problem, so I wish to disconnect it. What I need is a wiring diagram. Can somebody help.

I agree with a previous comment about the feeling driving a Jaguar gives! It also attracts attention and assumptions. If anyone needs any work doing to their Jag I can reccomend the guy I use (I'm on to my second one now (a Sovereign). He is very cheap, completely honest and absolutely fantastic!!!! Fellow enthusiasts! Over the last four years, for better and for worse and against all odds we have owned a 1985 XJ-S H.E. The car is in immaculate condition and has never ever failed on us. It is just the most reliable car I can imagine. Having said that, it never misses a single service interval or scheduled part renewal, to any expense. Only two faults have bothered us since the beginning: the fascia vent doesn't allow any airflow in the "defrost" mode of the rotary selector switch and, secondly, the trip computer shows no fuel data at all. They always remain at zero. It may sound unlikely, but I would love to see my fuel flow and fuel consumed figures - just for the sake of it! Who can help? Appreciate any contribution.

I am a happy second owner of JAGUAR (GB)XJ 40 Souvereign 1987 in Germany. The first owner registered the vehicle with emission class 00, which is very high in yearly taxes. According handbook car is having a closed emission system as my SAAB9000 1991 and SAAB is correctly registered with class 01 = G-Kat. Can anybody clarify?

Have an XJ6 3.2 Sport M reg. Smashing motor as previously had a VW Beetle!! However, I have an 'ANTI LOCK' warning light on continuously. Seems to brake perfectly well. Has anyone experienced similar? Sugestions for possible cure not including 'take bulb out' will be appreciated.

Hi, I have just bought a 1994 xjs 4 litre without an owners manual and consequently do not know whether my air conditioning unit is working or not. Apart from a slight change in sound it seems no cooler than the regular cool air fan when switched on. Also whatever setting I try hot air seems to come out of the vents under th dashboard. Please advise me if you can. Also if anyone out there has a 1994 xjs owners handbook that explains the various switches and controls I would gladly pay for photocopying and postage. Thanks.

2 years ago I purchased a Jaguar xjs 3.6 manual. It has done about 110,000 miles and has full Jag service history. It has just gone through the MOT with the only problem being the wiper motor which is now fixed. I have just ventured into a 1988 xj40 looked great on the outside but lurking in the radiator was a corroded gearbox oil cooler and when it decided to relieve itself of water into the gearbox it was not a pretty sight! megadollars later and back on the road she's a beauty. so be warned the old saying :oil and water dont mix is very true.

I have a S1 4.2 FHC which must be one of the oldest 4.2's still around, car number 20029. I thought some of the trim was a bit odd but the age explains it. Contrary to what certain books say mine has the moquette trim in the rear and not pvc. I shall get the data from JDHT to check.Must join the enthusiasts club as it sure looks good

Please help with advice on parts for 88 daimler 3.6 espeacially where to get water pump mechanical, work done, and were these cars leaded or unleaded? as im not sure if any enthusiast fancies working on the car have money waiting

I just bought a 1988 XJSC 14000 Miles.(Real Beauty) Changed upper Bushes on front shocks, to elimniate metalic clammer. noise comming from right rear(sounds like tire or drive shaft rubbing when accelerating)are bushes required on rear shocks?

Hello Jag. lovers. I purshased two XJ-6's recently that were in a Hollywood movie currently titled El Diablo. They are searching for a new title at this time before it is released in the Spring of 03. It stars Vin Diesel. Both cars (83 and 87) have simulated machine gun fire on the passengers side with each of the side glass and rear glass "blown" out. I have replacement glass for one of the cars now - and need to fix the "bullet" holes. I plan to market these cars on Ebay when the movie is released. Can anyone tell me how to set the radios so they will work? They have some sort of security code that needs to be programed. Any help you can provide would truely be appreciated. Thanks.

Just got a 1990 Jaguar XJ6 it is sitting in my driveway as I await my new licence plates. Can't wait to put it on the highway and enjoy the scenery behind the Jaguar wheel. I think that it is a fantastic car, the design and shape will cause heads to spin. I always wanted a Jaguar, and finally I got one. I guess, good things come to those who wait.

Ground up rebuild, zinc-aneal sill panels,rebuilt Franzone engine only done 2000'ish miles. Baked enamal, colour-Squadron Blue, velour seats, (never been farted on) Just send Fully warrantied power steering box as a deposit. So you can seal the purchase price of $12000. This unit is as straight as an ironing board. If you want a 1979 Series 2 jag, you will have to spend over $12000 to get to the standard that this beautiful car is. Just purchased a 1976 XJ12C. Looks like a complete cosmetic restoration is due, although sheetmetal is straight aside from minor underbody rust. My mechanic(who also works on my 1985 500SEC) tried to talk me out of it, but it's so lovely and runs, as we Americans are so fond of saying, like a striped-assed ape.
