I own a 1967 S1 E-type 2+2 which was in a parlous state before my ten month backyard restoration. I think that one of the most appealing aspects of owning an E-type is how reminiscent they are of the racing D-types of the fifties. Now if I could just find an old XK 140 dhc for 500 bucks...

I own a 1962 3.4 manual o/d Mark 2 with wire wheels. 5 year restoration recently completed. labour of love! This car has an unusual top timing chain adjuster, (factory mod) hydraulic instead of the manual adjustment. Roger Brotton of JEC has one too, anyone else?

I own an 1974 series II XJ12L. It's in very good condition and the performance is very good. On a trip it averages around 15 mpg and consumes oil at a rate of one pint in 1300 miles. The engine is fitted with carburettors. I would like to compare consumption figures etc with owners of similar cars.

I have a 1989 Jaguar VDP with 73000 km on it. I’m currently working out a few glitches with it, the main one being the cruise control. Does anyone know where the Econocruise module can be tested? Is there an aftermarket for this part (Part *C4293)?

I have only two really major regrets in my life of 58 years. The first was in 1956 when I didn’t have it away with my parent’s maid, when I had the opportunity. The second regret is in 1969 when I sold a 1955 XK140, number plate URL 1, when I left the UK. Anyone know if this car still exists? Don’t worry, my wife wouldn’t let me have it back!

I have always been interested in the Mark II saloon, but I guess I’ll never be able to own one because they’re so hard to find in the States. The few that are available are either in very poor condition or extremely expensive. Anyway, I love Jaguars even if I can’t have one.

Like Mr Chaplin I also moved to the USA from CARDIFF. I left behind in the UK my beloved XJ6, which was a 2 yr rebuild project. I now own what is thought to be the only R/H drive Mk X in Alaska. One day it will be driven in the Parade for the Alaska State Fair. I enclose my e-mail address if anyone in Jagland wants to send mail. I intend to try to send the odd letter to the mag when I start work on the Mk X. Great Club, Great Magazine, Great people and GREAT BRITAIN. I do love Alaska though, and never intend leaving it.

This is a great club, a club that genuinely exists for the benefit of its members. I currently have a 1967 E-Type S1.5 dhc, and a 1993 Jaguar XJ6 3.2S. The E-Type gets little use, but the XJ does around 40, 000 miles pa with a trip to the South of France planned in it this summer. Keep up the good work.

Where can one obtain first class no BS tech information for this car. I store my car for the winter and it seems everyone has different ideas how to go about it. If anyone knows how to get info on this car the VIN # is SAJNV5841GC131234 If anyone has any tips to share to make this car last for the next 100 years kindly pass it on. thanks

I have just purchased a ’67 series 1.5 E-type 2+2. I know very little about cars (even less about mechanics) but I know what I like. Will be joining the club post haste and will probably be asking a lot of stupid questions such as how the withdrawal of leaded petrol is going to effect my new love. I look forward to irritating you ;)

I have a 1965 Daimler MK 11 Saloon. In the 2 years that I have had the car I have spent approx £12,500 restoring her, including a full engine rebuild by Russ Carpenter Racing at Maybury (Woking Surrey ) 01483 233050 who did an excellent job. The only problem I have is that for some reason the water pumps keep failing on me, I am on number 5 , On average they are lasting 800 miles each. The engine rebuild was completed one month ago and within 1 week or 120 miles the water pump went again. If any one has any constructive suggestions then please e:mail me.We are building our own pump at the moment.

After the joys of owning a 1974 S 2 XJ6 I am now adapting to a 1966 "S" Type which I have restored fully over the last 14 months. A joy to drive, and a pleasure to own, a much admired vehicle. Originally Auto, now MOD. If I could pin down an annoying vibration which comes in at 50 to 54mph and again at 60 to 65mph I would be even more delighted. Anyone any ideas?

I own 2 Daimlers and a Jaguar. 1. Daimler Double Six, 1984. Smoothest car in the world. A dream in my 10 years of ownership. Currently in London. 2. Daimler Double Six, 1986. Ex-King’s car. Swapped V12 engine and gearbox for 3.6 4-speed auto from 1991 XJS (due to hefty roadtax on 5.3L!). Fully restored. Anyone know of any others in the world? 3. Jaguar XJS 3.6 Auto, 1988. Owned it in London and brought back to Malaysia in 1991 68, 000 miles but runs like new!

Since last year I'm the proud owner of a completely restored, beautiful 1960 Mark 2 with a 3.8 litre engine. Can anyone out there tell me anything about improving the engine's water cooling system? Would an oil cooler help to keep the engine temperature down in hot weather? Are there kits available? Thanks for your inputs, and best wishes to all jag lovers everywhere!

Hi! I just discovered your site and scanned a few comments. I have lusted after the XJ saloons for two decades and owned an ’86 Ser III for some five years. Now for an older XJS. I do all my own service and repairs, so I think that the guy with the ’86 conversion is guilty of sacrilege!
