I have a dilemma I hope someone might be able to help me with. My father was the original owner of a 1971 XJ6 before he gave it too me. I had a professional conversion done that cost me $5850, of which was the beginning of my restoration job. Now, I have to leave for a great job opportunity overseas. The new conversion came with a 1992 GM 305 engine, trans, and new exhaust system. Do you know of anyone who might be interested. I am willing to take low bids.

I found this page by accident - is there a Homepage? I collect E-Type stuff, scale model E-types, badges, postcards, photos etc... anything i can afford on my meagre wages (sob sob). One day I aim to own a Series 3 Roadster so i will probably have to spend the kids inheritance on it. Has anyone got any bits + pieces I can purchase for my "trophy room?" I also attend as many events as I can where E-types are on display....can your readers help?

Coveted the Jaguar XJ-S V12 Cabriolet for 12 years and now finally own my first (regency red, leather interior, of course, 1984, pretty good condition...). Never have I enjoyed motoring so much! Lots of little problems as we start our love affair, but nothing a little TLC won't cure. Also, at the Top Gear Live week-end at Silverstone I was privy to a chauffeur-driven trip around the track in an XK8..... Breathtaking. And Jeremy Clarkson's penchant for Cats does help one forgive him so much else! Great web page. Happy motoring.

Hi, I've just purchased my second Jaguar, a 1988 5.3 XJS Convertible, and it's the most fun I have had in AGES! My first was a 1982 5.3 coupe in BRG, she was slightly tatty but a cheap introduction to the marque. Be warned, these cars are addictive, don't believe anybody who tells you otherwise. Does anybody have any details of people offering body cavity and underbody rustproofing and sealing services? I would like to prevent the usual Jaguar rot problems.

Hi everyone, it's good to keep finding new Jaguar sites. My first Jaguar was a MkII 3.4 manual with overdrive (dark blue, red leather) bought for £90.00 in 1976, I sold it a year later for £120.00 it makes me mad everytime I think about it now !!! if only. I now drive a late 1990 XJ40 3.2, air con, red with grey leather and it's a great car. It had 114,000 miles when I got it in November 97 - NO service history as such and I've covered 22,000 miles since then with very little cost, it really has been a fantastic car. I travel a lot through Europe and have sat at speeds in excess of 125 mph legally in Germany and it just laps it up. I am getting around 25 mpg at reasonably high cruising speeds. I am looking forward to covering many thousands more miles with my Jaguar and will by choice not have any other car now. Well that's my story so far.

I love Jags, what can I say. I am on my first one, but it will not be my last. I have recently aquired an immaculate 1988 2.9L Sovereign, and she's my baby.
I was wondering though does anyone know if I can convert her to run on Unleaded 95 RON? Apparently 4 star will be eventually phased out. I have phoned my local dealer who told me that the conversion kits are no longer available, but Jaguar plan to re-issue them, but have no date or price as yet. Any ideas??!! Keep driving, and keep smiling.

Is anyone else as irritated as me about the withdrawal of the 25 year tax exemption for classic cars. My Daimler D6 was built in 1973...! It cost me £2,000 to buy, but I have spent £10,000 restoring it...mainly through professional garages who have paid tax VAT etc. These days cars only last 10 years, there are no British cars left to buy, and all the fat cats buy Mercedes...our heritage are the British built beauties of years ago. If the Chancellor sets a tax based on engine size (as seems likely) then a car similar to my car pre-restoration is surely worth no more than scrap....realistically how much per year in revenue would be lost by exempting 25 years old cars, but how much would be gained in tax paid by the garages etc which carry out work, in parts etc. I believe the 25 rule works elsewhere in Europe....therefore is this latest decision unfair could it be legally challenged? Sorry to bang on, Best wishes to all

Great to have a web page dedicated to us JEC Jaguar fans, we are on our third, the first (yellow E-type) and courtesy of my wife did a bad impression of a "cream egg" with a brown box van, hence the pause of a few years. We are now on our second XJ40 this one a little 2.9 which is convinced its in a backing group for "maxwells silver hammer". In other words we've cured the shake & roll now all we need is to sort the rattle at 2000 rpm under strain, any suggestions most welcome (not a louder CD though)!!

Great mag and site. Thank you for all your efforts. I have a series 1 XJ12L from June'73. Can anybody tell me why in all the time I have been looking in the JEC mag I have not seen any of these cars advertised. Is this because they are stashed away waiting for the sun or is this model thin on the ground these days as according to some sources there were but 754 made. I would like to correspond with owners of similar cars. It is too early to tell what fuel figures I will see as there is a problem with the exhaust manifold on the lhs. Once this is fixed we shall see. I would like to obtain original owners book and toolkit for this car, a couple of points did the heater ever blow harder than drifting air and does the air con really keep the cabin coolish on a sunny day?? Answers to this and more jaggie questions when I find out.
