The Club was formed in December of 1984 following the need for a Jaguar orientated club specifically geared to the enthusiast who not only used, but maintained or restored their motor car.

Our aim is to assist such enthusiasts, in a friendly and informal manner, keep their Jaguars on the road with the minimum of cost.

Within the first twelve months the JEC had developed significantly with a glossy A4 monthly magazine, Jaguar spares department and a technical advice service second to none. Within 18 months a membership of 2,000 had been reached identifying the JEC as the fastest growing one-marque Club.

The range of facilities and services has expanded over the years to encompass one of the best club insurance schemes available, specialist model seminars, major events and trips, the current 124 page colour monthly magazine, the remanufacture of specialist tools and spares and the largest selection of Jaguar memorabilia available anywhere.

The JEC operates in over 72 national and international regions. These regions run a series of local & national events including regular 'noggin and natter' evenings at local hostelries, video and talk shows visits to local specialists and monthly comprehensive newsletters on regional activities.

The monthly magazine Jaguar Enthusiast contains everything from full month on month restorations to social events, from small scale model news to new car model news. Nigel Thorley, editor of Jaguar Enthusiast, was awarded 'Best Editor of the Year' in 1997 by Classic Car magazine. The Magazine has won the prestigious 'Club Magazine of the Year' award, presented by Classic Car magazine, a total of three times and the JEC has been voted 'Club of the Year' by the same organisation.

The JEC is very proud of its relationship with the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust, the historic arm of Jaguar Cars Ltd, working very closely to further appreciation of the marque. We refurbished the Series 1 XJ6 which belonged to Sir William Lyons, founder of Jaguar, for the Trust along with the original Series 3 E Type press car. We have just finished restoring a unique Series 2 XJ which was the Chairmans main transport and was used as a development car. Our current project is even more unique being the concept Daimler Corsica, which has never had an engine!. We are making it fit for the road.

Over the years, we have worked closely with the late Jaguar Car Club to organise the largest one make Spares Day in the world. In March and October of each year over 120 stallholders and over 2000 enthusiasts descend on the National Agriculture Centre at Stoneleigh in Warwickshire to find that elusive part, or just to browse and talk about things Jaguar.

Not only is the technical side well catered for but the social side is an important element, with two International rallies each year, one in the North at Harewood House near Leeds in July and one in the South every August. A recent development has been combining these with a full social weekend courtesy of the Warner Breaks Group.

Also many local regions hold their own rallies during the summer and the club has also organised and been involved in many overseas trips.

The club operates from its own office premises in Bristol.

Insurance	A superb insurance scheme through leading brokers, Footman James, covering every car and including overseas travel and breakdown cover.
JEC-DIRECT	A comprehensive range of Jaguar merchandise through mail order, website or our own ebay shop.
Tools & Spares	Specially re-manufactured spares,specialist tools and car care products for the Jaguar/Daimler enthusiast.
Technical Advice	Expert advice at the end of the phone includes Buying Guides and a Vehicle Inspection Service.
Racing	A full programme of four annual race series covering most models, plus Track & Test Days for experienced and novice drivers.
Seminars	6 annual technical hands-on instructional and one model seminars.
Warranty Scheme	A full warranty scheme covering all models of Jaguar and any cars belonging to members.
CC TV	A new venture the JEC supports this internet channel showing a wide range of jaguar related material on a subscription basis.
