GEORGE FOWLER
When I was young I saw my older cousins e-type and fell in love with the car. When I was 22 I bought s series 2 OTS. I sold it later and regretted it immediately. Time went on and I then had the opportunity to purchase another car. I went for a series 1½ which was a bad one. Later that day I saw my current car and bought it immediately. Shortly after I joined the club and the rest is history.

This area is for you!!!

RICHARD BARWICK
Hi I’m Richard I joined the JEC in 2003 and became a member of the Kent South Region in 2007. I am now publicity manager for the region. I brought my car in 2004 and with the help of my son in-law started work on it in 2005 We have completed a full body restoration and rest is ongoing . I enjoy driving the car and taking it to the club events.
COLIN BOAKES
My 10 year love affair with the XJ6 series3 was doomed to end the moment my wife uttered those words ‘I want one of those, in that colour’! A few months later a ‘Fast Lady’ joined the ‘Sedate Gent’ in the garage. Within a few months he was off, realising he could not compete on looks or excitement.
He didn’t go far; it seems to be a trend, for beautiful bodies to be swapped for cash between local members!

FIONA HERITAGE
We joined the JEC back in 2000 just after we had purchased our first Jaguar a S1 E-type 2+2. We wanted to find like minded individuals with whom to share our experiences and gain advice on restoration and the fun of owning a classic Jaguar. We received a very warm welcome from Kent South but since the region was small we decided to help it expand so that the benefits could be enjoyed by all. I have just replaced my everyday car and after much searching settled on an X-Type Sovereign in liquid silver with barley leather so our dog Scamper now gets to enjoy the Jaguar marque too!

Phil Utting
'Hi, I'm Phil. I have had a thing about Jaguars since I bought a beaten-up but rare
JaguarSport XJR from a friend in 2004. Since then I've had two more XJRs. In early
2007 I fell in love with an XJ-S V12 HE in Diamond Blue. I've called him Merlin as
in the Spitfire engine! I'm now looking for some Browning machine guns for the front!
GRAHAM HERITAGE
Well as the Boss won’t often let me drive the E-Type despite the odd hour or two restoring her!!, (the ‘E’ not the Boss in case you were wondering), here’s my 2001 XKR, in Ferarri Modena yellow, the colour was a special-order for the original owner; there is a matching XK8 in the Newbury area and after much tracing for the history of the car it is believed to be the only one in existence in the country. Paramount tweaked and remapped the car in 2008 also fitting a Miltek exhaust. The children have affectionately named her the “Yellow Banana” and Bharat, (BP), if your reading...she’s almost as fast as your old Ford Fiesta!

Andrew Worwood
Hi! I’m Andrew and I joined JEC (National) in 2009 and Kent South Region in 2010. I have always wanted to own a Jaguar since I was about ten, some 50yrs ago. As time went on my choice narrowed down to the XJ6 and finally the X300.
In 2009 having survived a major operation and taking early retirement in the same year, now was the time to make my dream come true. I purchased a 1997 4.0 X300 Sport. I acquired the vehicle from a showroom in Halifax. When the car was new in 1997 it cost £5 short of £44,000 this was due to the customers request for a few extra’s.

Mick Tillott
I had to wait until 2005 before I could afford the car I first wanted in the 1960s.
Now I am living the E-Type dream. The previous owner was a JEC member from Sheffield
who owned it for 29
years. We also now own an XK8 convertible. My wife Jacky & I
have been members of Kent South since 2007.

Colin and Helen Field
I have been a member of the National J.E.C since 1998 and been involved at local level during that time. In 2010 Helen and I were invited to come along to attend a meeting, after getting to know a few of the members. We joined Kent-South officially in January this year and are enjoying events and the company of fellow members.
I currently own a 1998 XJ8 3.2 Sport, which I have owned for 8 years and a 1970 XJ6 S1 4.2, which I purchased 2 years ago. Previously, I owned a 1984 XJ6 Series 3.

Alan Harris
Hi, I'm Alan. I reside in sunny Sandgate a small seaside village near Folkestone. I decided a short while back to look for my dream car ...
Early in 2011 I took the plunge and purchased a lovely Red E-Type S3 Roadster (Ruby). It has been my boyhood ambition to own an E-Type.
I feel very fortunate and am very, very, pleased with my acquisition. Since my purchase I have spent a considerable amount of time getting
her just right (including the addition of new wheels, electrics & steering joints etc etc). She drives superbly and is looking better every day.
I joined the Kent South Region in April 2011 and could not have felt more welcome .. thank you guys. have been to several shows and I run my own lettings/management company in Sandgate and live with my lovely partner Jeanette who is also my 'chief mechanic' and 'events co-ordinator'.
